the pillarsof care

The framework also holds because each of us commits to it. These five pillars are written in the first person: every malicieuse embraces them on entering. Consent is our common language.

I come as I am

I allow myself simply to be. My moods, my pace, my truth, my limits — none of these needs justifying here. Every part of me is welcome. I have nothing to prove. I allow myself to receive as much as I give: because being nourished, supported and connected is a right, not a reward.

I care for my body and respect my pace

My body has the right to move, to rest, to say stop. My pace is valid. Stretching, drinking and stepping outside for fresh air are integral to my wellbeing here. I do not have to wait for breaks simply to stop, use the toilet or make myself a cup of tea. I can end an interaction at any time if it feels too intense or if I feel tired or uncomfortable.

I respect boundaries — mine and other people's

Saying ‘no’, ‘not now’ or ‘I don't know’ is not merely permitted, but encouraged. Touch is never implied. Slowly and with awareness, I make sure there is consent before any contact, I listen, and I respect boundaries without insisting. We move at each woman's pace.

I respect the space of silence

I speak from my own experience and listen without projecting. I share in the first person, from what is alive in my body, and I listen without trying to take control: without interrupting or wanting to correct, compare or rescue.

I trust silence as a space for communication, and I do not always try to fill it. I honour the facilitator's invitations to silence to support the integrity of our shared space.

I care for the community

I take care to preserve the confidentiality and integrity of what is shared here. I take responsibility for my emotions and welcome what emerges with curiosity and gentleness, without projecting what belongs to me onto someone else.

I practise impeccable speech: I refuse to fuel rumours or speak about others in their absence. If there is tension or discomfort with a participant or facilitator, I name what is happening and actively commit to restoring the connection, drawing on the tools and channels put in place by the community.
